Canadian Sand & Proppants (CSP) was created in 2008 in response to increased market demand for frac sand, used oil and natural gas procurement. Chippewa Falls, WI was chosen for the plant site and its headquarters due to its close proximity to multiple high-grade sandstone reserves. Chippewa Falls' excellent workforce, as well as its access to two L1 railroad lines also influenced the decision to launch operations here.
